“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV)
While watching Oprah interview Deepak Chopra, I heard him give these qualities that are required to have a happy life. They were joy, love, compassion, equanimity, truth, goodness, beauty, and harmony. It gave me pause to reflect on what the Bible says about each of these qualities. It immediately brought to mind a scripture that includes these qualities: Galatians 5:22-23: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law” (NKJV). When you read a scripture like this, how can you not see the legitimacy in God’s Word? It is the truth for our life yesterday, today, and always. John 8:32 tells us: “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (KJV).
I want to take these eight qualities and show how the Bible describes them for us. It is our message and instruction from God.
