God spoke clearly to me during this time frame. He said, “Daughter, I will provide for you and Amanda like I always have.” There were people who stopped me in the street as I was walking Amanda in her carrier through snow, asking if I needed a ride. I accepted the ride from the women who asked.
Each woman who offered me a ride gave me money without me asking for it. Some people gave me 100 dollars, others would hand me 25 dollars at a time. All our needs were met on a daily basis.
I desired to find a church in the town that would be the place I called “home”. I first went to the local Baptist church. They helped with food and clothing. The people were extremely friendly, however, after a few weeks I really wanted to go to a “Spirit-filled” Church. I prayed that God would show me where to go. That afternoon, in the mail, came a calendar, which included all the churches in the town.I called each church and the only one who replied was Pastor John from “The Sanctuary Church”.
The Pastor was so kind and listened to my story with compassion. That Sunday he asked to have someone pick up Amanda and me and drop us off. During the service, one of the elders, Anthony, made an announcement that during his prayer time the Lord said, “There is someone in the congregation that has no furniture and needs items desperately.”
I had tears in my eyes because I knew the Lord showed him my situation. After the service the entire church came over to me and asked what I needed. By that evening, my entire apartment was flooded with things for us. We had an abundant supply of furniture, clothes, food, baby items, and everything we needed. I was overwhelmed by the provisions.
The Pastor was always helpful and gave wonderful sermons that seemed to be exactly what I was going through each week.
