Water. Air. Sky. Sun. It all blended together. She was relaxed. It felt good after such a busy week. She felt stressed lately and she knew exactly why. It had to be Brent. Yet even through her fear and embarrassment, Cora was now realizing she was attracted to him. He carried this innate power in his nature that she had never known. People wanted to be with him. Men wanted to be him. Women wanted to be noticed by him. She had just wanted to stay out of his way. Brent was surely not interested in her.
“Hey, you okay?” Josh startled Cora with his concern.
“Josh, I’m having a great time. Why?”
“You have a frown on your face and you seem upset. Are you unhappy that I took that phone call,” Josh shot back.
“I was just thinking about work. Nothing important,” Cora brushed it off. It really wasn’t that important. Brent Locke might think he was important, but Cora wasn’t going to ruin her day with Josh by giving Brent another ounce of her time.
“You sure? You’ve been pretty stressed out this last week,” Josh said as he finally put away his phone.
“I have? I didn’t realize it,” said Cora with a bit of a smile.
