motioned for Neaysa to continue.
“The feeds we’re getting from their satellite links to their ‘net are working as expected. While an inordinately large portion of the queries and responses deal with their extremely varied and… odd reproductive rituals,” she paused for a shudder that Ceeda saw echoed around the room, “there has been quite a bit of useful information as Commander Plenk said.
“In fact there is one aspect that Commander Plenk didn’t cover that caught our attention. It’s the speed at which their technology has evolved. I know most of it is extremely primitive by our standards. However a little over a hundred years ago, the primary form of transportation for them was to ride other animals. The time between the first powered flight and them landing on their moon was sixty of their years.” She let that sink in for a minute. It was obvious this was news to everyone other than Javisk. Even the Batrix had taken four times that long. She then continued, “I wanted to bring this up so everyone is prepared for any Terrans we bring on to quickly understand any technology they encounter. We should not assume that just because they are backward now, that they will still be ‘backward’ ten minutes after they get their hands on a device.”
