Nia Irvin-Smith is the youngest child of Roosevelt Smith Sr. and Sonia Irvin-Smith. She was born in Houston, Texas and raised primarily in Spring, Texas with her 2 older brothers, Vernon and Brandon. Nia experienced salvation at an early age and grew up in a Christian household where the foundation of her faith was laid. As she grew in the Lord, Nia knew that the call on her life was to teach youth and young adults about the life-changing power found in the knowledge and application of the Word of God.
Nia’s passion is to see her generation and those coming up behind her experience an intimate relationship with Christ and reach greater levels of spiritual maturity.
Waiting for God to fulfill a promise to you is not an easy journey. It can be long, tiring and seemingly hopeless. However, God uses this waiting time to teach us and help us grow to the next level. I want you to be encouraged about whatever it is you find yourself waiting on God to do for you and understand that God has a purpose for everything, even your season of waiting.

While You Wait…
Sometimes in the midst of your promise journey, the Lord will test you to show you the destructive things that are in your heart. Without tests, you would be going along on your journey thinking everything is ok, when in fact you have corrupt ways and thinking patterns that you don’t even know are there. Just from examples in previous chapters alone, I have learned during my waiting times that I can be selfish, self-righteous, impatient, lacking in faith and so much more. They weren’t easy pills to swallow, but if I want to walk in the Lord’s goodness, those things had to be brought to my attention so they can be submitted to the Lord in prayer and fixed. The Lord is concerned about the condition of your heart, but all you see is Him not fulfilling a promise or bringing you your spouse. This journey is about maturing and it doesn’t always feel good when you’re under the shaping and molding of the living God.
