Glowering upon Selena and Mya, I cross my arms. “When does everything start then, can you at least tell me that? The streak of events, the first of them that chain react the rest?” I couldn’t stop the attitude cloaking my tone. I was beyond frustrated. I didn't want to do this in the first place.
Selena took a few sips from her glass, then set the cup on the counter-top. “Tonight,” she said in a soft voice, sounding almost hesitant.
“Tonight?” I repeated my voice sounding just as hushed. Tonight I may or may not die.
Finally looking up to meet my gaze, Selena spoke, sounding almost as if this person was born of greatness and realm. “Tonight you will encounter a guise of a man; sleek, sexy, and risqué—the ultimate perfection of the male species.” Almost every word that had escaped her lips sounded imperious as she described my stranger. “His eyes are blue like the ocean, serene, vast, and mysterious. And I must warn you, for if you gaze into them for too long, you may be swallowed by the ocean, drowning in his sapphire lakes, forever to be lost.”
