When you think about making the statement,
I know that my tongue has much power and I use my tongue to say those things that God says that I am.
Through out the bible and other sacred books we see examples of the power of man’s tongue and we have experienced that same power today.
Yet we casually and deliberately say that words don’t hurt us; while, knowing internally, we are hurting because of the same words that we denied have touched our souls very deeply.
Inside of the soul our emotion, will, and intellect are housed.
Some parents teach their children and certainly society have taught us to go on about our business and keep on pretending to be someone who people think have every part of their lives in tact.
We have found ourselves striving to be the picture perfect person. When in reality there isn’t one.
As human beings we are fallible. Therefore, there should be an expectation of grace extended to you and each person around you.
However, I invite you to explore the possibility of discovering a wonderful you.
You were created very deliberately through a very rigorous developmental process and you were looked upon and called beautiful and good.
We weren’t described as perfect, but good.
Now we do have to remember we were afforded a will.
The will allows us to make choices that can ultimately deprive and prolong what was originally intended for us.
As I reflected on my life, I began to pray that I understand how the words I spoke and the words that I allowed others to speak to me about my life was very important to my present and future.
As I further examined my past, I could clearly see how many of the words that I accepted had actually taken form in my life.
After realizing this, I knew that I had the power to change those things and I took charge and began to change everything that I saw that I needed to address.
The tongue can be deadly or life giving.
When we think about how an embryo is created and the complexity of the process that an embryo goes through it should it softens the heart and provoke many different emotions.
We should more cogizant of how we speak to each person we encounter and we should seek to celebrate the lives around us and ensure that we are speaking life to every person that we encounter.
We are also spiritual beings and our spirit will guide us. It is all knowing and is all-powerful.
We must understand the level of power that we posses.
My point here is very simple. We should be very deliberate and intentional on the things that we release from our tongues.
We have been plagued by a society with behaviors that injures the weak over and over again.
And at times there seems not to be a hint of care for those who are hurt or how.
Unfortunately we witness this in our homes, community and media, from people who are parents to leaders.
We must become more in touch with how we feel about certain situations that we experience; therefore, we will be able to feel others.
