Ashtyn stood in her poor excuse of a bathroom, the pale yellow tile, dingy bathtub, and stained sink making her grimace at its hideousness. She wasn't proud of her apartment, but it served its purpose most days.
She stared at her reflection, black hair curled over her shoulders and dark circles marring the smooth creamy flesh beneath her bright green eyes. The lack of sleep last night was evident. She couldn't count the number of times she tossed and turned trying to rid her thoughts of Carter, Master Carter.
Every crevice of her mind was filled with him. His beautiful blue eyes, perfect body, heavenly scent, and commanding tone were forever burned into her consciousness and the mere thought of him sent her body and hormones into a frenzy. Just the slightest touch of the comforter on her legs, arms, and neck, had made her body ache for his touch.
At least today she would have a chance to clear her head and arrange her emotions into some semblance of order. He was like a toxic drug and addiction was imminent if she wasn’t careful.
But that didn’t mean that she was happy about having to work the late shift, especially behind the bar. When the regular tender called in sick, she was the next in line that had any experience mixing drinks, little as it may be. She was by no means good at it, but she knew enough that she was confident she could make it through the night relatively unscathed.
She ran her fingers through the long tresses, smoothing down a few of the unruly strands and slathered on some make up to hide the evidence of her sleepless night.
