From the time I was ten years old, I had a dream of being a singer and a musician making beautiful music for the world to hear. I studied piano first and at the age of eleven I took to the guitar and simply fell in love with that instrument. I started writing my own songs then and formed my first band while in the sixth grade. I was the singer and guitar player and we would perform during recess for all of the sixth grade girls. Yes I had groupies even then. Ah the life of a musician.
At the age of fifteen, while in Junior High School, my band, “The Male Order,” won the Nevada State Battle of the Bands and we got to open for a large touring band called The Seeds at the Reno Centennial Coliseum. There were thousands of people there and I was hooked and knew that’s what I wanted to do.
As I got into college I decided to study voice as I had never really had any training and felt like that would help me in working towards my career path. After a few weeks of lessons, my voice teacher said to me....”you really should quit, you will never be a singer.”
