Partially Broken Never Destroyed
She got herself together and went up front to get on the computer. She went to look up the nearest abortion clinic. She found two private planning centers within forty-five minutes of her area. She researched the prices and general procedures for both clinics and decided to call for an appointment in the morning. She learned that if she was less than two months pregnant, she could take a pill instead of having a suction procedure done. She knew that there was no way she was going to be able to sleep. She went into her medicine cabinet and took three sleeping pills. She didn’t want her conscience eating away at her. As she lied there hoping she would fall asleep soon, she wondered if Dana had thought about this option. Kayla was against abortions, but what if you thought you just couldn’t do it? What if you knew you were having trouble handling your own life, less knowing than to bring a child in the world and mess up its life. She didn’t want to end up like one of those mothers who suffered from postpartum depression and ended up hurting her child. As her eyes filled with tears again, she lied there until she fell asleep, trying to justify her intentions.
