I’ve often wondered why, in an area where outdoor dogs are the norm and hunting strays abound, she wasn’t just shot and put out of her misery. I suspect it had something to do with her eyes --- the same eyes that melted the staff at the Lynchburg Humane Society in charge of deciding her fate. “I was ready to put her down,” he said, “but something in her eyes told me she wanted to live.”
Those eyes got me too, pleading up at me from my friend’s email.
