“Corporations and their managers now feed in the place where monarch and aristocracy left off. We the people are as vassals to employer and government alike, each requiring our fealty and owing us none. We have capital kingdoms and corporate empires, princes, duchesses, and lords in an aristocracy of mercantilism and finance. It is a shorter list, what does not smack of king in capitalism.”
