READERS PLEASE – I NEED YOUR HELP BADLY!!
I simply cannot decide which of 2 possible titles to use for my upcoming book:
I have to know which title for tweaking the content, and also for designing the cover and promotion materials!! Help!!
Please scan-read my PREFACE below which summarises my approach in the book: the first part of the PREFACE supports the first title, and the second part the second title.
The content of the book itself brings together both possible titles into an extraordinary unity, unique in the literature, such that either title would be suitable—BUT WHICH ONE GRABS YOU MORE?
A quick email to email@example.com with just a “1” or a “2” will solve my dilemma, thank you.
Science without religion is lame; religion without Science is blind
— Albert Einstein[i]
A childhood question we never quite found the answer to in the playground, in school, or at home was “Who am I?” Later it became lost in the noise of life without ever being answered. Nowadays, with a number of fine scientists becoming alarmed by developments in artificial intelligence (AI), the question starts to puzzle and challenge us again, “Who really am I? How really different am I to a sophisticated robot that can already invent its own private language and share information with other robots?”
It is shocking, but science does not actually know the answer, nor what Time, Consciousness or Energy really are. Check me out on Google “what is Energy really?” and so on. Taking Energy as an example — we know a huge amount how one form converts into another, and how to measure it, how it travels and so forth, but what it really is eludes us. The same is true for Consciousness and Time. Even Love, so fundamental to our lives, confuses science as to what it really is, as does also our very existence.
If you are not feeling uneasy yet you should be. Most of us might suppose we are different from AI robots in that we possess Consciousness, loosely termed a “spirit” by many religions, that is somehow housed in our brain or elsewhere in our body. Many believe that we are fundamentally a Consciousness (spirit), but we do not know what that is, and we scaffold our lives with Energy (food, action, electricity etc) and Time (planning etc), neither of which we know what they actually are, and we value Love without knowing what it really is, and our Universe runs with elegant Physics laws that we don’t know where they derived from. We are lost babes in the woods of existence, whatever that is.
Conceptually, we are in trouble. Can these mysteries be solved in time for us to face some of the greatest challenges to humankind that we have ever faced?
Within these pages, I will attempt to explain, I think for the first time ever, why this strange situation exists, and why our best and brightest do not know what Time, Consciousness and so on is, and why this will remain so for at least the short-term future.
My commitment to you is that by reading this book carefully you will see all these fundamental realities in a different and clearer light, and that your own comprehension of who you really are and what your future holds will become expanded and richer.
I will also attempt to answer both the how of your existence and also the vastly more important why you exist.
This book consequently searches out our ultimate origins, the purpose of our life on Earth today, and our future. It is especially relevant to anyone who wants to know themselves better.
I will introduce God as the ultimate Consciousness from which all this mystery derived. He originally made (created) everything with a deep purpose that we will examine carefully because it involves ourselves.
God’s Creativity is a central theme that runs through the Bible from the first pages to the last: from the initial Genesis explanations to the stunning Revelation descriptions of an impending New Creation—comprising a New Heaven and a New Earth.
This is thereby a creation-centred book because it unravels our ultimate roots before our Universe began, our present—and the exciting times that await us in our future. It roams across the whole of biblical scripture and modern experience. It deals with how Creation was described, and how it has been developing ever since to this day—and into our own prophesied future. It begins where I began with my questions regarding Creation and Evolution when a university student studying Geology, but moves far beyond this debate into who God really is—how and why he does things.
Every book needs a hero. The hero of this book is God himself, and he is a superhero above all others, and an extraordinarily productive one!
Initially, we probe how he brought about the Creation of the universe, as described mainly in Genesis 1 and 2. My insights are not the traditional ones. They came to me first by inspiration— but I have done much research since.
We then probe God’s ongoing creativity across a wide range that includes things he does on Earth to this day – including such apparently dissimilar topics as modern miracles, the fulfilment of biblical prophecies, answered prayer—and even near-death experiences (NDEs). We look at where he lives in Heaven and compare it with Earth. We find God to be closer to aspects of ourselves than perhaps we had realised previously, and there is a wonderful reason for this which becomes apparent slowly as we contemplate the amazing things he does.
“Who REALLY Are You? And Why?” (or alternative title) aims to resolve some apparent disconnects—for example, between theories of Evolution and Creation. We know instinctively that if there is only one God, then all elements of what exists must somehow harmonise—as they do.
One thrust of this book has been to concentrate on interpreting the Creation in a new and precise way; perhaps unique. I am not saying God has not given comparable perspectives on his truth to others, but I cannot find them written down anywhere, therefore I have undertaken the daunting task of attempting to write and share them myself. Please be kind to me!
How qualified am I to write this book about God and how he does things, since I am not an expert in these areas? It is different from most of my other 12 published books, so I cannot claim much experience of writing in this field. The first of my university degrees majored in Geology and Chemistry, and I have kept my interest in these disciplines and enjoy them; but I am a relative amateur in both. I have in addition investigated and studied modern miracles, near death experiences and the fulfilment of divine prophecies.
Who we really are, our purpose on Earth, and our destiny all emerged more clearly as I searched relentlessly for truth.
I hope you find it a stimulating and helpful read!
Here is a cover design using one of the titles, but the other could replace it easily.
