Chapter Four A Little Different Performance
At the concert, Warren sat on top of his spaceship to the side of the stage while the band was playing familiar holiday songs. He looked around and noticed some streamers by the curtains used to capture the holiday spirit. Red, green, white. Bells were attached to some of the streamers.
The kitty inside of Warren took over and he started to bat the streamers. The bells made noise as the band played. Giggles from the audience forced a frown from Mr. Woody. A frown for Warren and a frown for Kari and Kris.
When it was time for Kari and Kris to perform, Warren got off his spaceship and joined Kari on the piano bench. Kari stood up and faced the audience. “Tonight we have a special addition to the program. Our cat, Warren, loves music and practicing with us.
So, he will assist Kris and me as we play our holiday songs.” She sat on the piano bench and they both played “Frosty the Snowman” and their special duet. The audience clapped and Warren honked.
Next Kris played “Here Comes Santa Claus” and Warren honked in just the right places. Cheers welled up from the audience. The girls and Warren took a bow. Warren honked. He loved this adventure. Music and more music.
Finally it was time for the final number.
Mr. Woody rolled out the bells and put them in front of Warren. The bells were attached to bright red and green ribbons that hung from a special music stand. Mr. Woody decided Warren really did love music and could have his own instrument. “I think you do love music,” said Mr. Woody. “Have fun with the bells.”
