“Look at where you are now,” Andrew continued, “you’re just standing here, but you’re traveling at the same time. You’re traveling through time. Each second that goes by takes you from point A to point B in time. But because you’re not moving, you’re reaching that destination instantaneously. Now, if you could suspend time around you and moved, say, from the POD to the kitchen, then start time again, to you it would have taken a minute or two, but to those around you, it would be immediate. And because you’ve suspended time, you wouldn’t have aged.”
“So you’re manipulating time while you’re moving?” Julie asked.
“I hope so. I hope that the little accident that happened a few weeks ago can be controlled. We’ll find out. But first, I need to see if I can get this thing to float. It will help me to see if my theory on weight works. So out with you. I’ll need you to tape what happens from the outside.” Andrew gave Julie and Kota a mock push toward the door. As he did, Kota lost her balance and while trying to catch herself, accidentally grabbed a panel. All the lights dimmed for a moment, flickered, and then came back on.
