He drove for about twenty miles, when they came to a stop sign. Turning the car south, he took a deep breath, and put one of his tapes in the player, it was Mozart’s Mass in C. He turned the volume up until it was loud, with the chorus slowly building momentum as he made his way up Reynolds Pass. Gloria looked at him and saw tears rolling down his face. She was afraid to say a word, so watched out the window while the chorus came closer and closer to climaxing. She could feel the music pounding inside her when, there it was! Her head was bursting with the sound, and the mountains seemed more spectacular than ever. She realized she was breathing heavily and then the music gradually slowed and the volume decreased, as they descended down the mountain.
They both sat in silence for another ten miles, while their souls calmed.
