Autumn (interchangeably known as Fall) officially arrives around September 22nd. This exciting season brings harvests, holidays, shorter days, and crisp temperatures. Fall/Autumn reveals its fullness by splashing the trees with bold color and littering the fading lawns with fallen leaves that resemble multicolored confetti.
For me, the crackling sounds of Fall/Autumn seem to say, “Get ready. Get ready for what’s ahead.” Nature prepares for her long Winter’s rest and teaches you and me to do the same. Fall/Autumn gives us time to gather, organize and store. It’s the season to stack firewood, bring out sweaters, scarves and mittens, and fill the pantry. Come along, let’s seek the season’s surprises.
Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower. ~Albert Camus, 1913-1960, French author and philosopher
