The blood on the sheet was fading, as was the blood that had dripped onto the floor. What I was doing was something I had never done before, something I didn’t even know that I was capable of doing. I could ‘feel’ myself calling something, it was in my world, but it needed to be in the world of others.
The ‘thing’ that was standing behind me said, “NO!” and lunged toward the table. It didn’t get that far. As it touched the blue/gold/me it slowly dissolved out of the world of others and out of my world, it went away forever.
A few moments later Clarisse sat up, and the sheet fell away.
