It was only when she had seen the pyramid of Senwosret, whole and not eroded at all, that she had finally been forced to admit that it had really happened; that she had somehow fallen through time into the past. She had read stories about stone circles having magical powers. No one in their right minds would believe that any such thing was possible. Stories like that came from the minds of creative writers. They weren't real.
Yet the total absence of anything modern in the little village where Mut-Bity had taken her had been the first indication of the truth - the chilling realisation that she was no longer in her familiar world
