In book one of the Gary and Stacy Winslow series, “Tears of the Silent Crow” you had the opportunity to meet this adventurous and fun loving couple and learned about their love of life and their ability to solve mysteries. Now in the second book, “The Compass Society” things have changed just a little. Stacy has been missing for six months. Not only has Gary not been able to find her, but he’s being blamed for her disappearance. His life is at an all time low. The Society claims that there is no such thing as good fortune, luck or coincidence. Drew has been writing all of his life, or at least from the time he knew what words and stories could do. In second grade he was writing audio plays and now, many...many years later, he's still writing. Have you ever had someone do something for you that is incredibly nice, and you find yourself questioning the motive? I mean, I try to never question when someone does something nice for me, but every now and then I get a feeling like it's just not our of the kindness of their heart that makes this particular person act as they do. So, here sit Gary and Stacy. Gary is about to accept a job with the same company that Stacy works for. His future boss is already kind to a fault, but now he is offering something before the job is even underway. Sounds almost too good to be true, and you know what is said about those situations. “And what about you, Stacy? Would you like to sleep in tomorrow? Maybe spend some time in the morning with your husband?” Yugin thought for a moment. Before Stacy could answer, Yugin said, “You know, it’s Thursday. Let’s do this. Why don’t you two take the next few days off? Just come in on Monday, that way, you two can catch up on, shall we say, lost time. Is that something you would like?”
