“All right our shielding worked everyone get frosty!” Rex commands.
Rider, lying face down and floating just above the floor whispers, “Do you think they have any idea how bad we are going to mess them up?”
“Shhhh!” Duke scolds.
“I’m just trying to make idle conversation here to pass time.”
“Enough gentlemen… we… “
“They are here!” Rory alerts the crew. “They are moving into position to dock with us right now! Turn on your signal jammers and put on your masks and make sure your O2 is on… do it NOW!”
“Hand guns out and readied; remember you are to shoot ONLY in the lane you practiced for,” Duke orders.
In complete silence the members of the team lay floating just above the floor as they hear the boarding tube suctioning up against the airlock door. With every team member in his assigned position, Duke pulls the pin and activates a nerve gas canister and the invisible gas fills the small space quickly.
“Gas deployed,” he tells the men.
Rory counts the seconds as the gas begins filling the module. Re- adjusting his mask to fit more tightly, Dr. Rice’s words echo through his mind… ‘No deviation from the plan’.
