David Lowbridge is a science fiction and paranormal indie author based in the United Kingdom. He started writing when he was very young, but only in 2011 did he make the jump from writing for himself to publishing work online. With the exceptions of science fiction and paranormal, David is educated in business management and enjoys watching economic and historical programs.
This is taken from the short story "Prey". In this I compare the view point character to a predator who is hunting for his next meal. What I love about this story is that despite the evil that comes across throughout the story, you sense that before he was kind soul that had a tragic death. This is comparable to how we see the babies of predators, we view them being cute and then in the end they become hunters who will hunt down their prey without remorse.

Ghost Haunts
My eyes search for a target from my high position. Despite
it being the darkest part of the night; I find it easy to see below. Numerous
people are going about their business on the city centre street, carelessly
moving forwards and backwards unaware that a predator is watching them,
stalking them. There are plenty of people to choose from. The guy wearing a
smart grey shirt and black trousers; he looks lost; he's been separated from
his group no doubt. I watch him intently as he turns and spirals looking for a
familiar face. I can almost taste his fear, but it is short-lived, someone
approaches him and he seems more relaxed. I curse underneath my breath; that
could have been a great feast for me.
