Many years later, Adam would write of the tragic day when sin entered his life.
“I arrived home the same time they arrived. My wife had fruit in her hand as she approached me. I recognized it immediately.
When she offered it to me, I knew it was wrong. It was direct disobedience to God.
I chose to enjoy a moment of sinful pleasure. She did not trick me, but simply told me she had eaten of the fruit and no harm had come to her. God must be wrong!
But I knew better. I knew such disobedience would bring death. That something drastic would happen.
To my shame and everlasting regret, I felt it but a small thing to disobey God. I thought He would not really mind. I was wrong!”
