The way we see things has a tendency to be detrimental to
our own wellbeing, and to those around us, especially when we aren’t
looking from the perspective of our Father. Our perspective speaks
to the very condition of our eyes. The condition of our eyes, will de-
termine how we see things. When we have an eye exam, the ophthal-
mologist wants to see how good your eyes are. If it is found that your
eyes aren’t very good, they will give you a prescription for eyeglasses.
The purpose of this is for your safety and the safety of others. The
doctor’s desire is for you to be able to see things clearly. The reason
they desire this is because poor vision has the tendency to distort
your perception of things. The eyes are so important. Jesus said that

they are the lamps of our body, and if the lamp is unhealthy then the
whole body is unhealthy (Matthew 6:22-23). This has so much to do
with our perceptions, and the way we are thinking, interpreting, or
perceiving what we see. When our minds are being renewed, it is if
we put on Jesus as our eyeglasses, and begin to see things the way He
sees them.
