The transformation started when I was in my 20s,
Young and dumb, I was caught up in what was in the magazines.
Built men who had all of these muscles bulging from their bodies,
I had to look like them and do whatever it took to get there.
Too many times I saw commercials and ads seeing these men,
And women were gawking over them all of the damn time.
My social media feeds are filled with man crush Wednesdays,
And most of them consist of muscular men with big biceps and chests.
I wanted that attention, I wanted women to look at me like that,
I wasn’t the greatest looking man in the world and was always skinny.
So here came my investment into a gym membership,
Along with protein shakes, vitamins and changing my diet.
My goal was to get bigger and as fast as possible,
With my metabolism being so fast, it was going to be a challenge to get big.
I even went out of my way to get a personal trainer,
But after a few months, I wasn’t seeing the results that I wanted.
There was something that needed to be done and fast,
Seeing all of these jacked men in the gym made me feel inferior to them.
How in the world are these guys so ripped and huge like that?
Then I had a gym member tell me that he juices up.
He told me that he does it every few weeks to get bigger,
This was definitely not something I expected him to say.
