1 Corinthians 13:5
Love is not rude.
Dear Heavenly Father
I come to You ashamed by my actions. I haven't behaved according to the standard You set by Your Son. Forgive me for my shortcomings. Your smile never fades as I come to You. Your embrace is as warm and inviting as ever. Keep me close to Your heart.
Your strong arms are as gentle as the first time I felt them. Thank You for loving me without condition. Thank You for Your promise to never leave me nor forsake me. I need that compassionate commitment more than ever. Keep me wrapped in Your love.
It's a constant struggle for me to keep others ahead of myself. Remind me not to barge in ahead of another's words. Help me hear what they have to say before I think about what I'm going to say next. Grant me the compassion to allow another to cut in front of me without being upset. Keep me mindful of my place.
They have an even harder time dealing with their sinful nature because they don't know Your Son on a personal level. Use my gracious attitude to speak to their heart so they desire to be like me as they see Your Son being lived out in my life. Keep me obedient to You.
I need Your Spirit's control do live this new life out. Give me a bigger dose of compassion for others to counter my own selfishness. Remind me of the acronym for joy: Jesus Others You. Keep me prioritized properly.
Help me keep Jesus at the front of my thoughts, then other's needs before my own. If that means setting my own work aside to help someone else then give me a glad heart to do just that. Keep me hungry to help others.
It's only because of Jesus' love for me I can come to You. AMEN
