Silver In Their Blood - The Eli
The Eli have silver in their blood that rises to the surface to show their emotions. It's not always welcome as it can be hard to hide what they are feeling. It can also be embarrassing when you wish to hide or pretend you feel nothing or little for someone. This is Kaid wishing he could hide his feelings for Bliss.
Ashamed
Kaid wanted to know how she felt, and she's told him. This small peice of the story gives us a little background to their combined past. But it also, I think, shows their reasons for parting ways so long ago.
A Man's Broken In.
Kaid is pushing his luck but can't help but feel the need to keep Bliss safe. Bliss is not thrilled by his over-protective instincts.
A hint at the raical tension
"Kissing me is your Job?" That was a career choice? He'd seen the wrong list. Around the murder mystery and the romance I've woven in a thread of racial tension between the two alien races and the Earth humans. This tension is part of the arc of the series.
Protective Urges.
Kaid's watching Bliss. He's concerned about her safety since she found their friend Gene, murdered. And because she was the only person to see the body before the rain washed the remains free of anyone's scent, she held the only clue to who murdered Gene, their friend and fellow Eli.
Fighting Attractions
Bliss doesn't date Eli, she sticks to humans rather than her own race - but Kaid's allure is strong. And her Eli side reacts.
The past echoes in the present
A hint of Kaid and Bliss's past. Of the attractive between them. After finding a fellow Eli (a species of Alien living on Earth) murdered, Bliss is being pushed into keeping company with Kaid. Kaid's thrilled, wanting her to stay on Eli Clan land for safety, and because he wants another chance with her.
Eli Blood Silver
The Eli have silver in their blood, and the Crea gold. The metal rises to the surface of their skins, swirls in the eyes - displaying their emotions to the world. Anger - silver will swirl. Attraction - silver will swirl. Sadness - silver will swirl. I found writing this emotional beacon fun as it's hard to hide.

Bliss is our heroine, she's an Eli, one of two alien races that reside on Earth alongside humans. She's just found her friend dead...

Tyreal gains a little insight into Angel. Her love of her animals, the small rescue she runs, and the fact she's vegetarian. I like this interaction between the two as it shows Tyreal has a sense of humor but is also flexible .
Fab-u-lust-ass
Angel is just getting to know Tyreal. It's pretty much lust on first sight, but she resists. But resisting doesn't mean not looking. After all one can window shop, one doesn't have to buy. I hope this little snippet give a good idea of Angel's fun quirky side.
I Love Angel's Relationship with Vig her Guardian
Some Guardian Angels sulk. Or so it seems . Viggo, Angel's guardian angel has a habit of destroying electrical appliances and can't put them back to together. He has a desire to use and fix them but just can't . This is Angel protectiing her new and expensive expresso machine. I love their relationship.

Angel tries her best to save the old lady but thinks she's killed the woman instead.

This extra 'save her' sense adds to Angel's extra senses. This scene helps the reader to see and understand Angel's not just vain and a little silly, she's kind hearted an will risk her life to save another.
Viggo Helps Angel
Evil has entered into Angel and Viggo, her guardian angel that only she can see, is trying to save her. I love this scene, it's fun, and over dramatic which suits Angel's over the top personality.

Angel's quirky and a little fun. This excerpt shares what Angel's extra gift is - it's this gift she uses to make a living and to pay for the running of her animal rescue farm.
