The Star Party
Jeremy Rowlands is an astronomy professor and his students look forward to "The Star Party" every year in early December. I like this scene because Stephanie has a chance to see her husband through the eyes of his students. The reader also learns a lot about the night sky from this scene. Obviously, John is the scientist and so in working on this scene with him, I also learned a lot about astronomy. It was fun to write but it also plays a vital role in the story itself. A bonfire, set by other students from the university, nearly ruins the evening but also sets up for a key conflict/disaster in the lives of Stephanie and Jeremy.
Comfort of a Second Chance
After three week together in England during Book 1 (A Flight to Romance), Stephanie and Jeremy are approaching their 1st Anniversary. As Stephanie wakes and watches Jeremy sleep, she is grateful for many things--including a second chance at love. But how long will this second chance at happiness last?

This is a multi-generational story and I wanted to show Rexie with her grandmother heading up to the attic together to claim the "must keeps" before the old house goes up for sale. But Nana has another reason--answers to something she remembers from her childhood packed away in the attic.
