Legend of the Shag Foal

Shag Foal was an interesting myth, legend, even urban legend to research. Even a 1927 Naturalist had indicated it "may exist" and its origins were written in Medieval bestiaries and beyond. What always intrigued me was how it's story had a constant patter: Always approaches a lonely traveler in the middle of night, scaring them to death. So my thoughts on the matter was the fact they would runaway frightened and hence fall off a cliff or endanger themselves. What if a Shag Foal was a good omen, a way to get wary night-time travelers home?

Enter Cedric the Demonic Knight

This is where readers are eased into the world as Cedric knows it. Promptly after he shares his story and as you experience his life through his words we find ourselves back in Rusty's bar for the next leg of his harrowing tale. I wanted to give readers a clue that this wasn't going to be just stuck in the Middle Ages, but coming back to your front door. I saw this a great chance for clues to be left before diving into this strange world I had built.
