POD lives - dangerously.
Working with POD wasn't initially in the storyline except as an ancillary device. However, as I began to write the book the presence of this tiny AI kept on pressing in on the plot. As the Pattern Ship developed, POD became more central and although NUBL Wars was due to be the next book I had to change everything and write POD into the story. Hence this book. POD is a great book and the AI's growing sentience continues to make me look at the whole concept of humanity living alongside artificial intelligence in a new way. It could be a very exciting time in our evolution. We should embrace it.

The Story begins
The Emporium is a fragile peace at best. The longevity of AI 's and the emotive illogical reasoning of humanity keeps the cauldron bubbling. The only thing that keeps the lid on it is the rigid line of the mutual PACT that both humans and AI's observe. Without it the Emporium would fail and the mass of humanity would fear artificial life again with its usual groundless base. There would be distrust, reprisals, and this time the AI's would not hold back. Already, there is turbulence, the cause? nobody is sure, but there are interests within the Councils and among the AI's themselves who seek to bring about the nightmare scenario. As mad as it seems the only thing between them and a new Apocalypse is RIGA.
