Backstory on Baby
I love this scene. For the first time we get a glimpse into the life of someone who isn't related to Imara (or, is she?). Anyway, Baby is thinking back to a time when she was a teen, growing up with her friend (frenemy) Nilah. The scene in its entirety answers the question of how Baby goes from this teenager looking with envy and boredom at Nilah to the adult-Baby. In Part 1 we saw Baby as a servant in the Ward house. In Part 2, we see Baby as a child and things happen to explain how she transitioned into her adult-Baby role. Interesting stuff - check it out.
Playing Catch-up to Part 2
So, here we have a brief synopsis of what happened in Part 1 of The Covington Witches, similar to televised dramas that begin with the phrase, "Last time on blah, blah, blah". It doesn't tell you everything, it certainly doesn't tell you the "how" the events transpired or what lead up to them, but it gives you a good place to start from last month!
