Welcome, sentients, to the talk show that brings you life as you know and care about it in the 3rd millenium... Once upon a time, a cable channel known for its forays into reality television sponsored a contest to find a new, unique sitcom from outside of the stale Hollywood format, written by people from outside of the studio system. In response, I wrote this pilot, a new, unique take on talk shows that was part Jerry Springer and part Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. It totally failed to win. Instead, two pilots written by people from LA, who had been inside the studio system, were the ultimate winners of the show. Huh. What a shock. I would like a second opinion. Dear sentients, welcome to the talk show of the 3rd millennium. For your prurient enjoyment - here is 3rd M.
The guest-host of 3rd M, the talk show of the third millennium, lets the audience know what's coming up on the show today - an eclectic assortment of clones, existential questions and aliens.
A lottery winner, a conspiracy theorist and a divorcee wake to shocking news of an attack on the president. Over the next 3 days, they struggle with martial law, government agents and traitors to save the country!
This is the point where one of the main characters first hears about what is going on that is causing all the traffic and emergency broadcasts that have taken over the radio and TV. She is about to see worse.
What if you could have fame, fortune or love - but each was mutually exclusive? Johnny Crane is a young Texan living in New York City in the 1990's, trying to break into the worlds of publishing and acting and trying to navigate the world of love without breaking his heart. But his walls are papered with rejection, and his loneliness is only eased by his best friend, a fellow Texan in the big city. He floats at the edge of success, but finds himself unable to land. When he is tempted with the culmination of each of his dreams, he sees no way to combine them. Can he hope to find a way, or must he choose?
This is the point where Johnny's best friend calls him after what will be his last performance in a disastrously bad play, and we see the honesty that their relationship is built on.
In 1720, alien refugees called Mlosh made their home on Earth, warping human culture around them. Some humans preferred the old ways - and will use the Mlosh's own technology to strike back at them. This is the story of an anti-Mlosh terrorist cell and the law enforcement agents charged with hunting them. The first novel based off of voter's choices at Today In Alternate History, a popular alternate history blog. For fans of Harry Turtledove, Fringe and such films as Cowboys and Aliens.
The novel's main character, the Mlosh K'Tan'Jir, is introduced after his friend is kidnapped by the nascent terrorists of the Human League. He had been feeling old and worn out by life - but this mission acts as a fountain of youth for him, giving him one last chance to feel useful in the world.
The ancient cave system in southern France held paintings that were a doorway to humanity's past. Unfortunately for a small group of people in the local village of Montignac, they were also a doorway to an unspeakable evil - and they had woken it from its ancient slumber.
This is the point where the boys and the academics discover that there's more to the cave than paintings of happy hunters.
