A poem about the glory of creation and the Glorious Creator who gave it to us.
By examining, tonight, on the eve of the eve of National Novel Writing Month, my published work of the Summer, This Place, I hope to remember how easy the art of writing should be: -when you awaken in love, and experience understanding, and suffer for discipline, and labor for wisdom, then can you thrive in fulfillment, stand in peace, and share your love.
I find that I must write; it is not a choice of leisure; it is more like a cathartic endeavor of such alleviating force; as if my spirit knows the certainty of sharing sentiments with those who take concern, in that, they delight also in my notions, given from the One who made us to love.
Every year, the campground in which This Place was written, holds a lottery to decide who receives which spot; it's an unusual process, as every year, people end up in a different spot; the map is rearranged while the roads stay the same.
Have you ever worked away the hours, watching after others, seeing to their safety and their life? You'd be surprised what goes through your mind while doing such; many years ago, before "This Place" was written, I had worked upon those very stands mentioned, and I knew what it felt like to hope for everyone's safety.
There is truly a blessing to be claimed in camping: in waking in the middle of the night, the bright light of the opalescent glow upon my face; ushering me from slumber, to take in deep breaths of star-light air, cool and clean; a splendor of nature's dignity, given by the Source Almighty.
I found that while camping, I was in a place where my thoughts were contained: as if bottled, encapsulated by the glory of nature; as if shaken; in that exuberant writing experience of pen and paper; as if the cap released, my raw emotions and pure ideas poured forth, to be had and shared here and there with you all.
I wrote "This Place" while camping without my husband. I was a little lonely, but I knew the best way to pass the time was to write. This is what came from that.
MI Life: because we all have a story worth telling; a collection of poetry and photography.
