First Kiss
This is my favorite scene in the book. Probably one of the most sensual, romantic ones I've ever written. It shows how weird it is for Xia, a grim reaper, when she experiences affection. She's slowly trying to get used to the uncomfortable feeling of touching a human.
First Chapter
This is the chapter where the two characters meet. I made Xia appear very shocked when the human guy sees her, which is why she doesn't speak to him in this chapter. This book gives a reflection of what my own experience with romance was like. I got a late start in this department, later than most people, so it was as awkward and amazing to me as it is for my character, Xia.
