If you gave me thirty seconds to say what Fair O'Nelli felt right down to her bones, it would be the three lines you see here: she had never felt more alone. After my father died in a tragic manner when I was six, most of my childhood into my teens was filled with moments where I felt helplessly, hopelessly, and achingly alone, in spite of my angel mother's love. It's funny how we end up writing what we know without even trying.

I like to write backwards. Once I've realized how the book is going to end, I know how to begin.
