Valuing Difference
One of the main characters in Legends Awake is the ever loyal and supportive Miles Visker.
To most in the fantasy world of the Books of Legends, Miles is known as an oddball. In our world he would be labelled as having a psychological disorder but to Peran he is just his friend, Miles.
I wanted Miles to be accepted as who he is, his differences to be valued by those around him and that without him and those differences, they would be lost.
I think we are too quick to label people and treat them differently. Miles is given no quarter but prevails anyway.
