Like a wolf in sheep's clothing, there are bad people hiding among us in plain site, plotting and planning. Sometimes they are hard to detect because they seem like the neighbor who is "just a little strange but keeps to himself and doesn't bother anybody." Do you know anyone like that?

There are people you meet that you know you want to be part of your life. You can't explain it, you just know the person is real - a keeper. So it is for Darby and Brody. She knows and he knows. Like all solid relationships, a long distance relationship requires each person give 110% to the affair. When you are in a long distance relationship there can be no halfway. You're in all the way and more, or let it go and stick closer to home.
A Vet's work day never ends
I've been very fortunate to have caring veterinarians for my fur babies. What troubles me most is the uncaring people who trap fur babies in cages, making them breed litter after litter, some never having their paws touch the earth. My goal with MERCY was to build awareness about the horrors of puppy mills using a loving story of hope and courage.
Innocent Questions
Children speak truth in their innocent questions. Most don't know about subterfuge. Their questions are clean and pure. So it is with Brianna, Darby's daughter. She loves puppies and her desire to play with the puppies her friend tells her about triggers Darby's curiosity.
Friends and Family
The people in our lives right now often connect us to those we love who have passed. So it is for Darby. Brody’s actions remind her of her father’s actions. But like her father who was military and often called away from home, Brody is just visiting. Will their distance keep them apart? Can they overcome the distance barrier?
Mercy Lives!
Mercy is a real puppy who my vet Dr. Ruth Gussman saved with the help of the wonderful staff of Jolly Pond Animal Hospital in Williamsburg, VA. I learned about Mercy when Dr. Gussman sent out the call to her clients to help defray the cost of Mercy's surgery. And we all stepped up. Mercy is doing fine - enjoying life with her new forever family!
