Infamous

Romance

"Simply fantastic! Infamous has everything I love in a romance: witty dialogue, steamy sex, and great characters. Preston has crafted a fun and flirty book that I couldn't put down!"--Emily McKay - Bestselling Author Four years ago it was pure Hollywood - the windswept beach, the whirlwind romance, the runaway marriage. Unfortunately, the ride into the sunset didn't survive the publication of the bride's tell-all book two months after she said ''I do.'' Reclusive venture capitalist Morgan Riley isn't interested in fame. He prefers a quiet life in the suburbs. For his daughter’s sake, Morgan agrees to give his notorious wife another chance to be part of their family. But can a party girl be content with a quiet life in the suburbs? Everyone knows Jessica Sinclair. She’s that girl on the cover of all the tabloids. As a Hollywood insider, Jessica has spent her life partying with A-list celebrities, shopping on Rodeo Drive, and living through scandal after scandal. When Morgan offers her a second chance at an 'All-American' lifestyle, she can’t pass up her shot at real happiness. Back in suburbia, Jessica spends her nights in sexy role-play hoping Morgan will overlook her deficiencies as a homemaker. She spends her days attending P.T.A. meetings, burning cookies, and asking herself, ''What would June Cleaver do?'' More to the point, what will Morgan do when Jessica winds up back in the tabloids - with his teenage daughter right next to her?

No one had gone to jail or, worse, rehab.

Morgan and Jessica are tricky because they have so much history. Here I try to drop in just a little backstory.

A little role-play might be fun...

The amazing Rachel Brice was my inspiration for this harem girl scene. Remember, you can read the full 1st Chapter FREE at IrenePreston.com

Join me in the Shower?

Sense of smell is very important to me. Citrus smells always cheer me up, pine reminds me of my grandmother's house. Sometimes a particular smell can even be linked to a very specific memory. I think Morgan is having that experience right now... Don't forget to check out the full first chapter on IrenePreston.com!

Foot Fetish

Have you ever been turned on by something surprising? I'm normally a sucker for a well-defined back, that certain-something in his eyes when he smiles, a certain laugh. But you know when you're into someone, really into someone, because anything can do it - being in the same room, breathing their air, a glimpse of bare feet propped on the coffee table.... If you can't stand the heat, get out of the pantry

When I first considered sex-in-the-pantry, I almost didn’t go through with it. At this point in the story I’m very focused on Jessica’s struggle to fit in as a step-mother and wife. She’s throwing a pool party for her step-daughter and things have already gone sideways. Sex at this point seemed like a bad idea (even Jessica worries it is inappropriate). On the other hand, I knew my readers would expect me to maintain a certain heat level. It felt like time to spice things back up again. What to do? Once I, started writing, this scene really flowed. I try not to make sex just about sex and this scene is no exception. First of all, it’s a big role-reversal for Morgan (normally the staid one) and Jessica (usually couldn’t give a fig what her guests might think if they’re caught). This scene is about two very different people trying to move a little closer to each other. It’s something all couples have to do if they’re going to live together. I hope you enjoy this bit of fun in the pantry. Remember, you can always read the full first chapter free on IrenePreston.com!

Heating things up in the Elevator

I have no insight, here, it is just a bit of smexy. If you really want to know, this wound up in the first chapter because I was nervous about doing the smexy bits. So, of course, I just jumped in with both feet. If you like you can read the complete first chapter (including the additional smexy that happens AFTER the elevator) on IrenePreston.com - let me know if I managed to get any chemistry going at all!

On the Dance Floor

Can you dance? I have two left feet, therefore I am fascinated by dancing. In this scene, I allowed myself the fantasy of being able to dance, *really* dance, and not be self-conscious about it at all. Jessica isn't bothered one bit if people watch her dancing. Is she a little too self-confident? Maybe I should give her some secret fears.... I hope you enjoy this short excerpt. Not in the mood to party

Ever had that feeling at a party that you were on the outside looking in? This Hollywood party should be bad-girl Jessica's milieu, but tonight she can't quite get into the swing of things. Most of my readers love this party scene. For me, it really emphasizes the difference between Jessica's public persona and the private person she's become.

Interlude on a Balcony

Morgan finds Jessica taking a break from a party. Is there still any chemistry between them?
