James Raven's First Loss

This introduction to the book shows the stern, yet loving family from which James Raven comes. He loses his mother and this segment shows how her death touches them. It also shows his mother's love and concern for her son. What will come of James' life? The remainder of this book tells his tragic tale. I wanted to paint a picture of hard times. Some families seem to be hit with more than their share and can't overcome them on their own. They need to look outside of themselves to be saved. This is the premise for the book.
