Tina is a beautiful woman who could have any man she wanted. Her problem is that the man she chose is only concerned about what she can do for him. Thirteen years of marriage has given her two amazing children but left her with virtually no self-esteem or self-worth, because her husband has relentlessly stripped away both with his indifference and belittling comments. A chance meeting at the local gym brings Tina and Eric together. There is an undeniable chemistry between them the first moment their eyes say hello. The Gateway to the Soul
As the months have gone on, Eric has no doubt that Tina is done with her marriage but has doubts about whether she's ready to do anything about it. He also knows there's chemistry between them that they are both aware of but it isn't until this scene that Eric finally realizes how deep Tina's attraction to him is and she's not hiding it. Despite his uncertainty about a future together, he is sure the attraction between them in entirely mutual.
Two rams butting heads
Tina and Eric have reached the point where they know their interest in each other is more than a friendship, though neither has verbalized it yet. Tina keeps finding more creative ways for them to spend time together that maintains the illusion of friendship. Tina's husband grows suspicious of the friendship. Eric is now in a situation where Doug is taking passive aggressive shots at them both. Eric knows he and Doug are potentially on a collision course for a direct confrontation if he handles Doug's verbal jabs incorrectly. As Eric describes the situation, it's like two rams climbing a hill to do battle. But it's a battle Eric doesn't want to fight at the moment. For many reasons.
A Near Fatal Miscalculation
When Tina and Eric began their affair it was all fun and games as they stayed one step ahead of her husband. He had suspicions about Tina but could never catch her in the act. Eric always figured that one day the husband would come after him. It never entered his mind that Tina's husband would go after her. That error almost cost Tina her life.
