Redeeming Io
I knew going in to Rebel Obsession that I would have to redeem Io from the character readers got to know in Heart of the Warrior. He was the epitome of prejudiced and such a womanizer until he met Miriam, the king's daughter. And oh, doesn't that go over well with the king? But by putting Io in this role, where he has to overcome the king's heavy hand where his daughter is concerned, the reader gets to see a side of Io they hadn't seen before. He is a former addict who now runs the drug treatment program at AKM, and for the first time he realizes just how vulnerable a male vampire is when it comes to his call to take a mate. This gives Io new perspective, and he finally begins to see the error of his ways. Showing the evolving dynamics of Io and Miriam throughout the story was such a pleasant journey to take.
