Totem (Book 1: Scars) is the first installment in a trilogy that will span one year in the fight for the survival of the inhabitants, both present and past, of Old Wachusett.

Death of a Child
Totem started out as a completely different book than the one it now is. I had the thought one day, 'What would happen if I caused, either directly or indirectly, the death of one of my children?' That thought haunted me for days. I started writing about it. A novel started taking shape. Almost a year into that novel, I didn't like it. It had no supernatural elements to it, which is the genre I most enjoy. So I kept all the characters, changed the direction of the story, threw in a supernatural element of Native American mythology, some time travel, and thus, here is the Totem trilogy, where I will continue to explore the death of a child.
