Along the way they meet all kinds of interesting characters and get in tricky situations, but they do eventually fight the dragon. In the end they discover this journey was about a lot more than dragon treasure. This book is loaded with puns and humor, especially literary humor that kids will enjoy figuring out.

Irrational Fears
I chose to have Peter be afraid of poodles because it is an irrational fear--and so absurd it's kind of funny. Perhaps you agree with Peter: pink or blue poodles with their poufs of hair do make them look unnatural. And he had been bit by one of them in the past. Peter had to face that fear by going through the kennel filled with poodles. What irrational fears do you have? How have you (or will you) faced that fear?
