Nu Book 1

Science Fiction & Fantasy

The new Hg Rickover Shipyard in the asteroid belt was designed to build humanity's first interstellar colonization ships. Construction of the Voyager Iii was just underway when the visitors first appeared in the constellation Orion, approaching the solar system from the galactic rim. What humanity didn't know was that they were about to take center stage in a multi-billion year conflict between two races that originated in the Andromeda Galaxy and had now poured over into the Milky Way. Sted Richardson had been pushing hard to lead that first interstellar mission, but his plans were cut short by a freak accident at Tranquility Base on Luna. With the loss of both legs above the knees, he was no longer eligible to lead that mission. His new prosthetic legs, however, gave him hope. His advances in a new career as captain of a state of the art mining assay ship were about to lead him into the forefront of humanity's battle for its very existence.

Book Bubbles from Nu Book 1

Nu - An Ancicent Race

The Prelude in Book 1 of the trilogy introduces the race of the Nu. Almost driven to extinction in their home galaxy, they are forced to find a new means of survival. The small band of survivors flee to our Milky Way, where they will regroup and find a way to prepare for the Esss. As you will see in the 'Interludes' in the book, it takes billions of years of preparations to find a means to fight back against the Esss when they make their inevitable jump the the Milly Way.

Budding Relationship

Lieutenant Lorraine Blyleven is the chief astrogator on the United Space Navy ship Revere, and as such, has daily contact with the books protagonist, Captain Sted Richardson. I introduced Lorraine into the story to help the reader understand the background and motivation of Captain Richardson before a tragic accident occurs that changes the Captains entire career. You will see that these two characters feel a physical attraction that cannot be realized between a captain and one of the crew. Tension builds quickly from one crises to the next until the accident.
