Mary's and Darrin's life is what some would call "dull". Every day they follow a ritual of habit, starting the moment they wake in the morning. That is until Mary buys a deck of Tarot Cards from an old women at the consignment shop, then Mary and Darrin are drawn into the dark world of the Circus Tarot with a lusty Devil, carnivorous Clowns and the other malevolent denizens of World Circus. Mary and Darrin must fight for their safety and make a disturbing deal with the inhabitants of World Circus to save their lives.
I've heard from people that they don't know anything about Tarot cards so they haven't read Circus Tarot. The best thing about this book is that you don't have to know anything about the Tarot to get or understand what is happening. The characters are the cards and in describing the characters, I'm describing the cards. While I did take some creative liberty with them, they hold true to who they are in the deck. So, please enjoy Circus Tarot, and don't worry about knowing anything about the Tarot.
I can't say enough how much I love the Ace of Buckets. He's my favorite character in this book.
Six years after Mary and Darrin burned the Circus Tarot, the frantic Circus Tarot trilogy continues with Page of Buckets. The pattern of their lives has once again become predictable. Unknown to them, the deck of cards has been busy rebuilding itself. In order to save their daughter from the clutches of the denizens of World Circus, they must send replacements or they will make her a Clown. However, it does not seem that everyone wants to leave the impulsive world’s seductive charms.
I read this and still think it's creepy. Maybe it's just me, but I can't think of anyone who'd want a clown watching them sleep.
Saul can control dreams, not just his dreams but dreams of people he comes in contact. At first, he is not aware of what he can do and does not understand why people act strangely when he gets angry. When he goes away to boarding school he inadvertently calls for help from his Spirit Guide. The Spirit Guide teaches Saul about his gift and alerts him about danger from the Man who wants his gift.
This book is dear to me, being my first publish. It began as a twisted short story in High School, then as the years passed turned into The Second Plain. Some have asked over the years, knowing me, how much of it autobiographical. I laugh, and say all of it and none of it. Yes, there are locations I've lived included, and some personal experiences. That being said, it's not autobiographical fiction, I don't have the gift Saul has. This scene is Saul meeting his Spirit Guide for the first time, and for the first time hearing about his unusual talent.
Reynard Ashwin could not ask for a better life with his loving wife, a baby son, and his own tailors shop. When the seductions of a demon came to him, only asking for a simple commitment in return, he did not know what to think. It promised a new life, vision, strength and, most importantly, not succumbing to an untimely death that so many around him had met, how could he ultimately refuse? Making the commitment, he received a hunger burning within him. Now the only thing Reynard dreams of is being with his family and being rid of the hunger. However, during his journey through eternity, the only thing he has is hunger.
This chapter was a relief for me to write. It gave me the output I needed at losing my father-in-law a few years ago, who in so many ways was very dear and close to my heart. When he died it hurt like nothing I had every felt before. During the process of writing this, I was teary and had to stop. I won't say that this made everything better, but writing how I felt through Ashwin helped put it into perspective.
Poor Ashwin, he had no idea what he was getting into. Too late now.
Alexis is a beautiful woman who is used to living comfortably. She loves her husband, though she knows he isn’t faithful. In her mind, all she needs to do to keep him is give him a child, but she cannot. When her husband is mysteriously killed, she finds sadness and depression running rampant in her life again. A simple invitation to Parsons Manor brings her exciting feelings and memories. Though she questions the intent of the invitation, she readily accepts, and is whisked away to her childhood home filled with secrets. Only one person is brave enough to answer to her questions, and she learns more than she expects.
How could I resist the mysterious person lurking in the garage? Who is it? What happened to them? Why are they there? So many questions for poor Alexis.
In this overly dramatic scene, Alexis (our heroine) faces off with something unspeakable in Parsons Manor. Of course, no one believes her, and she decides from this moment that she shouldn't tell anyone of her experiences in the house.

This is the introduction of Cody, the hero of the story. He's been having strange things happening to him.
