One year after the tragic end of the world, nineteen year old Pip, a girl with no family and a hidden past, finds herself the leader of an ever growing group of survivors. She must battle Tomlin, a man in search of his wife and daughter who will stop at nothing to find them, even if it means putting the life of everyone he encounters in danger. She must face the Pests, sick people who behave aggressively and threaten the existence of the smaller population of uninfected humans. All Pip wants are answers. What started the apocalypse? How can she help the Pests? Why her? Will she save the world, or is something dark and sinister waiting for her in the near future?
