Less Religious/More Spiritual
I recently watched a documentary on the History Channel. It said that statistics indicate that, by the year 2050, 90% of the world's population will not adhere to any kind of formal religion. It stated that the vast majority of various branches of religions are dwindling. People seem to be shifting to a more open-minded, worldly, spiritual approach to God. They're getting away from the structure and tradition of formal religion, either because they don't find it relevant, or people are simply finding God in other ways outside of traditional services. I don't believe this is a bad thing. It's just indicative of spiritual evolution. Perhaps, we're starting to outgrow our old ways of thinking and will eventually stop fighting over whose God is better. I believe we are ALL children of God.
"My Dog Ate My Book"
My Aunt Terry was in my book's dedications section. Terry was recently contacted by a nice elderly lady who claimed her dog completely destroyed her copy of my book. The elderly lady pieced it back together but could only make out "Terry Oswald". Not knowing how to contact my office, and being unfamiliar with the internet, she wasn't sure how to get in touch with me to request another copy. She looked up Terry in the phone book, hoping Terry could get in touch with me. My aunt not only picked up another copy of my book, but she personally delivered it to this nice senior citizen. I autographed her NEW book, "Dear Jane, please take good care of your new book. Our pets are truly angelic, but in the end, they're still animals."
A Very Timely Pregnancy
The timing of the pregnancy and how it coincided with the publishing of this book was only the first synchronicity of many. First of all, after we selected an Ob/Gyn, the doctor scheduled a psychic reading with me, not knowing we were new patients of hers. Come delivery day, our doc knew the story of Sky and had read this book. After Sky was born, our overnight nurse just so happened to be a fan as well. She had also read the book and had been following Sky's story via social media. At the hospital, we were in good hands, to say the least. Another synchronicity began with a dream my wife had years ago. She awoke with a phrase in her head- "Something blue on 2/22". We brushed it aside as meaningless, until my publishers decided my public book release party would be scheduled for February 22nd. My book cover is blue. Hence, the dream involving "something blue on 2/22" was prophetic in nature. Perhaps this book was part of my destiny. There was so much divine intervention involved in the story of our daughter and this book; accounts that involve guardian angels, miracles, and messages from Heaven. In a future book, I'll share with you the whole story of "the Sky diaries".
