I grew up on the water, the north shore of Long Island, within spitting distance of the water. I loved the rocky shoreline with its deep harbors, and the wide, beautiful Long Island Sound beyond it. My summers were spent swimming and sailing, my falls on long walks along the shore or bike rides to the light house. I try to evoke this sense of place in Rough Harbor...
